The United Youth of Markham
Educate... Motivate... Activate...
United Youth of Markham (UYM) was established by the Mayor’s Youth Task Force in the 2004-2005 term. The new committee is comprised of Task Force members and Task Force Ambassadors, and strives to work with non-profit organizations pertaining to youth. UYM’s goal is to educate the youth of Markham about the adversities faced by youth – locally, nationally, or globally – and to motivate students to take action in working towards a solution.
This year, the committee has the pleasure of working with Emma Rooney and Street Kids International to raise awareness about youth homelessness, particularly in the Markham area. The United Youth of Markham has already commenced online registration for this event. The No Address - Forum on Youth Homelessness will be held on Friday, March 4, 2005 at the Markham Civic Centre. The forum will include keynote speakers and various interactive workshops. Please check out the Registration Page for more details, if you are a teacher, principal, or interested student.
The United Youth of Markham hopes to increase youth participation in community events that will help enhance the lives of others, in Markham or abroad. Together – united – we can help make a difference in our local and global community.

2006-2007 Year:
In the 2006-2007 MYTF term we ran many successful events! There was a gaming Expo at Thornhill and even a Battle of the Bands at Milliken Mills C.C. It was a great term, and we are waiting for next year.
